Field trips are part of a child’s early learning experience. Not only for recreational purposes, field trips can also be an educational experience for the students, especially Kindergarten students. These activities can provide opportunities to engage with the world beyond their classroom in a memorable way.

Introduction with Fun Documentary

Upon their arrival, the Kindergarten students were greeted by friendly firefighters who were willing to share their knowledge with the little ones. Before the hands-on activities began, the children gathered on the second floor where they were shown an engaging documentary presented by the Fire Station mascot, Pampy.

Pampy taught the students how firefighters overcome all kinds of disasters, especially when a fire occurs. Not only that, Pampy also taught the students what they had to do if an earthquake happened in a catchy and rhyming song so the students could sing along. Singing and moving to the song can make the learning experience memorable and enjoyable.

Getting Up Close with Firefighting Equipment

After the Kindergarten students finished watching the educational documentary and learning a new song, the firefighters guided them to the outdoor area on the first floor. There, the firefighters introduced them to all kinds of equipment that they use daily.

From fire hoses to chainsaws, the students went to see up close and learned how they could be life-saving tools if the firefighters use them correctly. This hands-on experience allowed them to appreciate the bravery and hard work of these everyday heroes.

One of the most awaited activities of the visit was when the Kindergarten students used the fire hose with the help of the firefighters. The students were excited when they brought down the cone with the water from the fire hose.

It’s Time for Water Play

As a grand finale to their visit, the firefighters took their time to make the trip even more enjoyable. They turned the fire hose on the children, who were eagerly waiting in their raincoats. Laughter and squeals of joy filled the air as the children experienced the thrill of playing with water. This fun activity not only cooled the children off but also gave them a real sense of what it's like to be a firefighter.

Riding the Fire Truck

After the Kindergarten played with water from the fire hoses, it was time to go back to school. But there was a twist! The firefighters let the students go home with the fire trucks with the sirens on as if they were real firefighters.

The field trip to the fire station was an unforgettable experience that left a lasting impression on young minds. They not only took away valuable knowledge--but also memories of an exciting day spent with real-life heroes.
