A Guide For Parents In Choosing The Right Educational Program For The Child In Global Sevilla

Find the best solution for parents to choose the right program for their child's future education at Global Sevilla.

UNICEF notes there are more than 600 million children and adolescents worldwide who cannot reach basic levels of ability to read and count, even though two-thirds of them are in school.

Some gaps are even reported in schools, such as a shortage of trained teachers, inadequate educational materials, and poor infrastructure. These factors result in the learning process being disrupted and difficult to accept for many students.

Without quality education, children will face significant obstacles in finding jobs and reaching their earning potential in the future. Therefore, parents have an important role in ensuring children have access to adequate education.

One of them is choosing a school that can proportionately support their child’s learning activities. A good school not only promotes a positive educational culture but also thinks about character building for children and is committed to working together with all parents and their communities.

With Global Sevilla, all these hopes can be realized. How so? Here we explain the indicators for choosing the right child education program through Global Sevilla.

  1. Character Formation

Sourced from Harvard Edu. A study on mindfulness education (lessons on techniques to calm the mind and body) can reportedly reduce the negative effects of stress, improve students ' ability to stay engaged, help them deliver positive academic performances, and avoid negative behavioral problems.

Global Sevilla provides a powerful character-building program through mindfulness education methods that not only bring health benefits but can also change the structure of the brain to help children learn more effectively.

One day a week is called the Day of Mindfulness, during which students and teachers will gather together to practice mindfulness methods by focusing on the breath and the present moment. From walking with awareness and sitting with awareness to playing with awareness - everything is practiced to enhance quality attention at that precise moment.

  1. Education Curriculum

A curriculum is a lesson system designed for students during their period of education. This curriculum is the standard educational program of a school, and there are various kinds with superior international standards used in schools. For example, the Cambridge International curriculum, Montessori curriculum, International Baccalaureate (IB), International Primary Curriculum (IPC), and many more.

The curriculum developed at Global Sevilla implementation adjusts the level of education accordingly:

  1. In Playgroups and Kindergarten, the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) is used, provided by Fieldwork Education, United Kingdom;

  2. In Primary School Level Grades 1 to 6, there are two curriculum options: Cambridge Primary Checkpoint, and International Primary Curriculum (IPC) from Fieldwork Education, United Kingdom; and

  3. For secondary schools, Grades 7 to 10 follow the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum, and Grades 11 and 12 follow the Cambridge International A-Level curriculum.

All Cambridge curriculums are provided by Cambridge Assessment International Education, United Kingdom.

  1. Supporting Facilities For Learning Activities

According to UNICEF, two-thirds of the world's school-age children do not have access to the Internet, resulting in limited opportunities to develop learning and skills at school.

Thus, it can be said that proper school facilities can improve the quality of the learning environment in schools so that the quality of Education will also increase. In line with that, Global Sevilla is committed to providing the best infrastructure for the common benefit of teaching and learning activities.

The infrastructure includes classrooms, amphitheaters, laboratories (physics, chemistry, biology, and computers), libraries, indoor gymnasiums, basketball courts,  canteens, football fields, student clinics, and swimming pools (for kindergarten students and teenagers).

  1. Interest And Talent Support Activities

Extracurricular activities are activities that support the interests and talents of children at school, outside of the academic curriculum. Student participation in extracurricular activities has a positive impact on adolescent development (Blomfield & Barber, 2009), such as better social relationships with peers, appropriate social behavior in any environment, and also improving basic skills for academic achievement (Metsäpelto & Pulkkinen, 2012).

Global Sevilla provides a variety of extracurricular activities, including mini cooking, ballet, music ensemble, choir, drama club, photography, taekwondo, football, basketball, science club, and entrepreneurship club. With many varied choices, students can choose their favorite activity, according to their interests and talents.
